Cant stop icons snapping to grid in fence.

Hi,

I have a licences copy of Fences 2.13 on my Win 10 laptop that I have been using very happily for years.

Recently it has starting 'snapping' the icons in a grid order of its choosing in my Fences, rather then letting me organise them as I choose.

Can you advise what I need to do to get it working normally (as it has done for may years).

Thank you.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues. We suggest you to upgrade to version 3. Since it is known that the latest version 3.0.9.11, work better with latest Windows 10 version 1803.

But you can try to disable the "Auto arrange icons" and "Align icons to grid" on, the right click anywhere on desktop, menu

Hi,

Sadly that does not make any difference.

Is there a cost involved in upgrading?

In all other ways version 2.13 does exactly what I want...

You can try this link for Fences 3 https://www.stardock.com/products/fences/download

and at the bottom there is a great discount link for Fences 2 users.

Windows 10 is upgrading almost constantly. And it is known that these upgrade changes on how thing works. That why Fences need to evolve accordingly too.

Have you try to set the fence to sort to none? Right click inside the fence you want to change. And select Sort Fence by -> None

You can put it at any order as you wish but you can never put it a part like below. And from my understanding it was the same as in Fences 2.

Hi,

Up until about 3 or 4 weeks ago I could have my Fences as a single column like this:

Now it will only let me have a minimum of 2 columns:

Any Ideas?

Hello,

I can set single column on mine.

Just a note : What icon size are you setting at? Mine was on classic icons. And did you lock your Fences?

Thank you,

Mine are Classic Icons - I think...

Can't see how to change the icon size, but they look normal size to me.

They are also the same size in both screen shots.

If you set the fences to with label again( mouse over or always) . You will get back the right click -> view -> icon sizes.. extra large, large, medium and classics. And you can always change back to never show label again after your change that size.

Try that.
