Keeps asking to activate even after activation

Hi Guys

Anyone finding that you keep getting prompted to activate Fences all the time and when you try to activate via Stardock account details it doesn't connect and have to use offline activation?  This keeps happening to me even when I have activated (offline) and a few days later I get a notification I only have X number of days left of my trial, please activate.  It is driving me mad, along with it not allowing me to activate via my Stardock log in details like I normally have done.  This all seems to have started since the latest cumulative update in Windows 10 a few weeks ago.

Cheers

Andy

Hello,

Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time. A "Run" dialog box will pop up, please paste the path below into the "Open" field and press OK.

%ProgramData%\Stardock\

In the folder that pops up, you should see a folder named PRODUCTNAME. Please delete this folder and all of its contents.

After you have deleted that folder, please attempt to activate once again and it should succeed without any errors.

Please let me know if this does not resolve the issue.

Thanks guys for the prompt service.  I have done as instructed and this time it looks like activation has been accepted.

Many Thanks

Andy

Hello, I have a similar follow up question. I am encountering the same issue as the op. For reasons I don't want to get into, I have to uninstall Deskscapes off of my main pc. The version of Deskscapes in question is the most current version as of 7/1/19.

Can you PLEASE help me fix this? I have uninstalled the program, and have followed sdRohan's instructions to remove the "PRODUCTNAME" folder; as well as trying to remove the entire folder of Stardock from ProgramData. After uninstall, and deleting the entire Stardock folder in ProgramData, in that order, the pop-up still re-occurs and the Stardock folder magically regenerates in my ProgramData file with the Deskscapes sub-folder!

I've even cleared local data with CCleaner after the uninstall of Deskscapes AND the deletion of the Stardock ProgramData folder without luck!

note: My product key was entirely new and unused when activating Deskscapes; and I was getting the same issue as the op.

Not sure what happened in your system and what make Stardock folder magically regenerates itself.

I have forward your problem/question to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. But since Stardock is currently on summer break, reply from them will take sometimes. The latest will be by 8th July. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.

That is as it should be - post activation, that folder / files will be recreated.  If it prompts you for activation again, are you certain it is DeskScapes and not one of our other app trials that can be installed when installing DS?
