Few on my desktop icons are missing - My Computer , Rubish bin , control pannel - when i uninstall Fences they return. I have had this removed for 2 weeks and icons are there. Just installed Fences and they gone again.

I don't think they are missing, most probably they're inside a fence and that fence was accidentally moved to another desktop page.You can try few things:
1) Switch the desktop pages, "alt"+ "Left or Right arrow" on the keyboard.
2) Reset Fences to it first use state by Layout snapshot as suggested by Azdude above, just instead of restoring yesterday snapshot, try restore the "First Use Snapshot" that should bring back all the icons. Make sure you saved your current setting before you do the restore.
Try that and let us know.

Mate your a legend , you correct the Icons was on 2nd desktop 
i removed this and now it back to normal ... Excellent thank you.,

When I leave my computer, I double-click to not show the icons. Fences took three snapshots of this desktop. Now double -click shows the blank screen. I retrieved the desktop file from backup, but can't move icons to the desktop.

Thanks. Since I only keep shortcuts on my desktop, it was not difficult to just build a new desktop.
