How to force focus back to the main computer/monitor

My multiplicity works great (most of the time), but occasionally something happens and I cannot bring the mouse back to my main computer/monitor. Is there a way to force the focus/mouse to switch to the main (first) computer/monitor when the mouse won't go over the 2nd computer/monitor border?

I get this often. It's very annoying.

After a while I set up a hotkey control/alt/home to send the cursor back to the main screen. Uninstalling, purging and re-installing makes no different. It still does that and the other irritating thing it does is refuse to accept mouse input on the screens other than the main, although you can type there as normal. Just can't click or double-click anything although the mouse-over highlighting and so on works.

Returning the mouse to the main screen , clicking something, returning to the other screen fixes it until the next time it does it.

Would be great to have these two not dissimilar problems fixed.

I note that post was from 21st September and it's now 2nd October. Are Support monitoring this forum?

This has happened to me too recently. It's making the software almost unusable in some cases. Is there a way to bring the mouse back to the main pc if it's lost on another screen?

Really need a fix for this.

The problem disappeared for me since my last post. (As David151) so I presume there was an update that fixed it for me. Setting the hotkey to go immediately to one of the screens worked fine though.

I would suggest downloading the latest version and re-installing and do set up the hotkey anyway.  Right click the system tray icon and select Configure Multiplicity and then you can set up the hotkey on the "Hotkey" tab.

Good luck!

End of Drakkit's quote

While rare, there are some apps (games mostly), and sometimes Windows itself (UAC window for example), that can snag or lock the cursor to a Secondary - again, its rare.

That said, killing the service on the Secondary should have the mouse come back to the primary after a few seconds.  I have written a batch file to help with that:

https://cdn.stardock.us/support/uploads/mpRestart15.zip

Run it, it will kill the MP service, tic down 15 seconds, and then restart the MP service so you can get back to it.

Hope this helps.
