Problem With Chrome Groupy When Chrome is Already Running.

This is my Groupy below. It works great, except when Chrome is already running, then it opens the Chrome tabs in a separate Groupy from the Windows Explorer ones.

I tried increasing the GroupMax and GroupCount and having all Chrome And Explorer windows open in a group.

I guess what I need is to have Chrome and Windows Explorer open in the same group.

Any suggestions?

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

Problem With Chrome Groupy When Chrome is Already Running.
End of quote

This is an issue as closing the Chrome browser does not always close all Chrome processes.  Groupy has no way of knowing what process to open any group in or a new one.

This has been discussed in other threads with the recommendation that all Chrome processes are closed to have it open saved groups as expected.  This can help explain further and how to have Chrome really close when you close the browser window:

https://www.gtricks.com/chrome/exit-completely-close-background-apps-extensions-processes/

I should note that other browsers (FireFox and Edge) do not suffer from this - they work differently than Chrome.
