Applications not showing up in Start10 search after Windows 10 1803 update

Windows 10 Pro updated to 1803, now Start10 search doesn't return many/most applications. For example if I search for "Resource" then "Resource Monitor" should show up but doesn't, or "Notepad++" should show up if I start typing "Notepad". Problem happens with most of the applications I use regularly, including ones in the Start10 recently used list. All apps do appear correctly in the Windows 10 native menu search and in Cortana taskbar search

I am running Start 10 version 1.6 and have done the Start 10 purge and reinstall as well as rebuilding the windows search index without success.  Suggestions?

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues. It something similar to this thread : https://forums.stardock.com/489574

You should read through it, some get it resolved, some does not. It seem microsoft have done it again with this update.

I have gone through all the suggestions on that thread. Is there a debug log that might suggest why it's not working. Are the developers actively diagnosing the problem?

Any update? Start10 is effectively useless if it can't find programs

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

It does / should work as seen here:

This thread does indeed have a lot to try; not the least of which is a total search reindex and / or using a restore point:

https://forums.stardock.com/489574

With all but one reporting that the efforts worked to resolve their issue. Did you ensure you tried them all?

Then there is this as well:

I've tried everything. I've re-indexed, followed the start10 purge, etc. The problem is in start10. Is there a debug log, or a debug mode for start10 to see why it's failing

The problem is in start10.
End of beluga3858's quote

Thus far, it's too early to say that with on real confidence - again, it's not readily reproducible nor are the (very few) reports unrepairable from OS changes outside of Start10.  Please don't confuse that with a denial that it could be - its just not where the evidence points to thus far.

I would like you to try a clean boot to see if you still can reproduce the issue:
