Fences crashes/restarts explorer frequently after most recent Win10 (KB4338814) update

After the most recent Windows10x64 update (KB4338814 7/5/18), I noticed my windows explorer freezing (desktop/taskbar/system-tray freezing and entering restarting loops) frequently when Fences is enabled.

 

edit: I found that this also may be due to having a fence to an unavailable network drive - maybe there can be an update for Fences to ignore a fence that points to an unavailable resource.

Sorry to hear you are having issues. May I suggest two solutions.

1) Network drive : A workaround : https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#folderportalsempty

and it if the problem still happen

2) Try purge and reinstall : https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#reinstalling

Try it. Don't forget to reboot and report back.
