Newbie playing Crusade 3.1

1. Is there an easy way to determine what tech path is needed to build a specific ship or simply to get to the medium hull for example?  What path to build a transport?

2. What do I do with an idle colony when all the tiles are full?

3.  Is there bit of a straightforward way to search for these types of basic questions?

Thanks.

1. In the research tab, you can check the tech tree that contains the various ship improvements tech-by-tech. Transports are first available with the "Planet Invasion" tech, which most people get around the start of the mid-game.

2. With various tech options, you should be able to boost economy, research, build legions, and so on without consuming a tile.

3. Alongside simply asking those questions here in the forums or searching the forums directly, you can also access the journal-section of the site and Ctrl+F your questions into the search bar. https://www.galciv3.com/journals

Yes, in Research there is a button Tech Tree in the lower left that gets you to the tech tree view, which is much more useful than the default view. (Just wanted to emphasize this because it's so important for new players.)

The hull techs are all in one line under Engineering, starting with Orbital Manufacturing and ending with Massive Scale Construction.
