Question about using KVM mode

I have a laptop and a desktop. When using kvm mode, my laptop's display is duplicated to my desktop computer's display. Is there a way to switch keyboard and mouse to controlling my laptop without duplicating the display?

I know I can use the seamless, but I have a reason for wanting to do it this way.

Also, is there a way to use kvm mode while playing a full screen game?

I'm wanting to be able to play a game on my desktop, pause the game, hit the kvm hotkey, switch keyboard and mouse to laptop for whatever reason, then switch back to game.

I read the link you gave. I don't see how that answered my question.

Not sure why you would want that but no.

Yes, if the game can be minimized or windowed (not something we can help you with).
