Can't see Office applications installed from Windows 10 app store on Start10 but can see on Windows start menu

Hi everyone. Now that Microsoft have put the individual desktop office apps on the Windows Store I uninstalled Office 2016 (I'm an Office 365 Home customer) completely and just reinstalled the individual applications I wanted - Outlook, Word, and Excel from the Windows app store. These are the regular full-desktop versions, but just packaged for the Store - not the UWP/mobile versions.

I can see them on the built-in Windows 10 start menu but I can't see them on Start10 - is there anything I can do to make Start10 re-scan / otherwise notice them?

Happy to upload a screenshot when I'm back on my rig - but I wonder if anyone else is having a similar issue?

Are they now being listed under Universal applications?

I am curious as to why you would install those versions though?

They're not coming up there, no. I'm not 100% clear on whether they should. For example, i've also installed Spotify from the Windows app store. Same as this, it's just a wrapper around a desktop application rather than a genuine UWP. I don't think Spotify appears in that list either, but I'm not home to check :P

I decided to give it a try because frustratingly, the Office Home installer Microsoft uses (i.e. when you log into office.com and download from there) installs absolutely every single bit of Office 2016 to the C drive with no option to choose individual components.

I don't want things like Access or Publisher, so this seemed like a decent way to cut down on disk space used.

No - I'm wrong. Spotify DOES appear in the universal app list, even though it's just a wrapper for a desktop app. So anything else I'm installing from the Windows store should be appearing in that folder - including these Office apps.

 

Thanks to all for advice so far - is there any way to force a refresh of the univeral app list? To confirm, the apps in question are DEFINITELY on the built in Start menu. When I type word the first result is 'Microsoft Word' and underneath it says 'Trusted Windows Store Application'. But Start10 just can't see it.
