New user - odd issues

On Win 10 x64, GTX 1060 with latest Windows and graphic card updates.  As recommended by all and practiced by none, I run as a standard user rather than Admin.  That may explain the first problem.

1)  When I right-click on the desktop, there is no option to enter "Fences Settings".  I have to run the Fences app for that.

2)  I can't get newly-created objects to automatically go into portals - only into regular fences.

3)  [Edited out a comment here on getting fences to snap to same width / multiples of icon size... I had some fences with larger icons than others; didn't realize those could be independently changed.]

4)  When I try to slide the current desktop offscreen and create fences on a new one, the first one keeps snapping back.  So there's no way to even get started on a second desktop.

Try using as admin.

Rules do not apply to portals as just navigate to your own folders.

I'd suggest for the Help on Desktop Pages that you add the sentence on needing a fence to begin with.  Especially since it's a frequently asked question.

The user would expect the rules to apply to portals, since they seem to be just like fences.  So maybe that's another place to add guidance - right at the top under "New icon placement and auto-organizing".  I like the portals feature and use them wherever possible.  That helps keep desktop (C:\) size down and makes sure things are in the data drive (D:\) folders where I ultimately want them anyway.  Of course it would be much better if the rules could be made to apply to portals, but I assume that's not reasonably possible.

Try using as standard user.
