Change Language

from Stardock Forums

Hi,

I'm using the latest version of Fences, and I have not found where the language exchange is done. I need to do this.

Fences only supports Simplified Chinese at this time, and Fences is designed to use whatever your system language is set to.

The language of my system is Portuguese of Brazil, and in the folder lang of Fences already has the file translated into Portuguese.

Can you read this file in the program load?

It is not supported. Only Simplified Chinese is.

Hi.

Choosing the language is a longstanding difficulty in Fences.
I want to use English permanently rather than the language of my Windows 10 system.

I renamed the "lang/language" directory in Fences installation directory, but after computer restart Fences always uses the system language.
So Fences installation determined it's language! Besides, some Fences texts in the Registry are in the system language.

Solution:
- In Fences installation directory, open the text file "Lang/langmap.ini".
- Identify the code (EN, ES ...) of your desired language.
- in the Registry, key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Stardock\Fences", modify the value of the parameter "UserLang" (normally empty): enter the desired code, for my case EN.
- Reinstall Fences; the parameterized language is now well used.

Be careful, some languages in "Lang/langmap.ini" are no longer available: check the forum.

I hope this will help for other languages.
