Notebook Crashed!!!

Notebook Crashed!!!

Yesterday I downloaded a cursor, the nickname of the person that made the cursor was "Niker" or something like that. Well I opened the folder and it started to open it and my notebook stopped working. I had to turn it off and when it started again nothing worked. The only thing that moves or works is the cursor which returned to the original white plain cursor. I cannot get into anything. I was thinking about using the system recovery discs but I don't know if that will work. I can't lose anything because I have important documents. Any help or suggestions will be very helpful. Thanks Ashley

It has been reported that this cursor set can cause problems. It is *possible* that it has caused your OS to not load, but there surely is a way to get it going again. I don't know how, but

hmmm... never heard of that... but I'm certain it can not break a keyboard.

Hey everyone just to let you know my notebook is okay I found someone to fix it. It was that cursor that messed everything up. I deleted the cursorxp program and then went to the cursorxp website I got my serial number from when I bought it. So I downloaded the program again so I can get other beautiful cursors from this website. Just don't get the one that I had.

Good to hear that you're stuff has been rescued and the notebook is ok. I think that cursor set has been removed from the library.

Well I am not sure what this guy did? He knows a lot about computers. He was puzzled at first and he hit some keys on the keyboard and found the cursor xp program and disabled it. Whenever I tried the keyboard nothing worked. Sorry I don't know anything more....but once he started pressing buttons and going through different menus I lost track of what he was doing. If I see him again I will see if I can get step by step instructions, incase this happens again Thanks for all your help again Ashley

For future reference: ctl+alt+del > Processes, right click the process causing the problem and select 'End process'. In this case you would probably have found CursorXP running at 100%. This is always the first thing to try when your system locks up

Todie... I've a solution for you...

Let XP start... than press CTRL+ALT+DEL (everything will run very slow now wait until Task manager will be displayed... choose processes (that will be very slow, but it works... just trust me and wait) select CursorXP and "KILL" it.!!! (It may be really extremely slow)

If everything is OK again DO NOT RESTART!! Open My Computer\c\program files\cursorXP\themes and choose any other set that works!!

Reboot and download CursorXP1.3 which is absolutely safe for you even with my broken set

That's little late, but about 150 people has the same problem

VERY, VERY SORRY... I'll try to NOT mess it up next time
