[BUG] Currently Trading With Another Player

can't win with diplomacy with this bug

Hi all.

I keep having this bug on crusade, in all iterations. It happened just now after the most recent patch. I was hoping this was fixed, but now I'm wondering how prevalent it is.

I get a pop-up message at the beginning of a turn that some civilization (it can happen to all of them, I think) is currently trading with another civ. The screen asks if I would like to wait until the trade completes, or ignore. If I choose to wait, it never resolves. If I ignore, I cannot have any diplomacy activity with that civ (and the one it is trading with) for the rest of the game. It happens 75% of the time, in my games. As a result, I cannot forge any diplomatic relations or alliances with the civs who are stuck trading.

Has anyone seen this or found a resolution to this bug? I haven't had much luck finding anything on this. I'm guessing that the two civs are trading when one of them ends its turn, getting them stuck. Just a guess.

Also, looking at some of my treaties, I see that some of them I gain "new game" or the payment is "new game". I'm not sure what this means, but it looks like a placeholder for some tech that I traded.

Thanks all for any help.

known issue, so no fix or work around

Huh. I just got the message again. Here is what it says exactly:

"DL Bradley would like to trade with you, but is busy trading with the Iridium Corporation right now. Would you like to decline the offer, or wait for them to become available?" If I wait, then I'm stuck on the turn since the "next turn" button is not available. Instead, an incoming trade offer is available. If I click on the trade offer, I get the message again, ad infinitum. So now in my game, the Terrans, the Iridium, and United Earth are all unavailable to speak to, since they are currently trading with another player.

Anyone got a solution to this?

Boooooo. Thanks!

Save and reboot the game client, sometimes you will have to reboot for each civ effected by this.

Yep, been having this issue as well. You can reboot the game to sort it out, but it will come back. It's a nasty bug.

I posted about this on Discord. I have not been able to reproduce this so far with saves because reloading the game seems to 'reset' the bug. It then reappears after what seems like a variable number of turns.
