Problems with PuTTy 0.53b on WinXP with WB4

Hi everyone,

I have been running PuTTy for yonks on my Win2K workstation with WB 3.5, and have had no problems.

However, I just couldn't wait for WB4 to be back ported so I upgraded to WinXP Pro! Now, my PuTTy sessions go a bit wonky. The scroll bar flashes heaps and doesn't seem to skin properly, and the whole application often crashes if I try and minimise it.

I played about with the per app settings...
"Disable scrollbars for this app" didn't stop the flashing.
"Only skin this applications title bar" didn't help either.
"Ignore this application and do not skin it" is the only thing that has helped.

I guess I can cope with this, although it is one of my main day-to-day apps (being a Unix sysadmin)! Does anyone have any ideas as to why it is broken now when it used to work?

Thanks,

Andy.

Since my rush to post the fault, I've found another work around.

In the PuTTy session configuration, I've turned off scrollbar display. I can still scroll using Shift-PageUp and Shift-PageDown so all is not lost.

It would still be nice if someone else had any suggestions.

Scrollbar is still (WB4.4) not skinned correctly, same with cmd window. But putty now runs stable again, at least to me.

Wow - now that's dredging up an old thread!

I'm up to PuTTY 0.55 now, and must admit that since I changed to keyboard scrolling, I've never gone back I guess I'll have another goo and see what happens. Thanks.

... and 0.56 just came out yesterday too!

I've now tested with 0.56, and as you said scroll bars are still not skinned - but at least they don't flash anymore.
