Why?

Direct your attention to WB4 Does Not Work in Windows ME thread... Certain posts have been deleted. It boils down to this. In childish challenge, BoXXi, an admin who should have known better because he's an admin, posted a STARDOCK CUSTOMER'S IP Address for everyone's viewing because he (exiled) would not believe they can get it.

Member demands an apology. BoXXi not only did not give it, he exiled him.

We do not tolerate this sort of behavior from lower members. Why do admins get to get away with it? Never have my question been answered.

I'm through. I'm gone. This place feels like it's decaying.

There are many of us without the talent to skin, (although I did some years ago) we need people with the talent to makes us happy, please try to ignore others comments and stay, that way you will keep many of us very happy

i haven't seen a lot of what you describe, but from what i have seen the admins, BoXXi included have been showing superhuman patience of late with certain people.

the admins are only human! perhaps some of the posts should not have been made (i don't know, i wont judge), but humans occasionally make mistakes.

i agree that of late the message board has not be the friendly supportive place it used to be. but, remember, those who have been around for a while may disagree with each other, but they still respect each other.

it seems to me that a lot of the troubles stem from a lack of respect, and people posting before they calm down and think.

to put it another way, what would you have the admins do? try to reason with people who seem immune to reason (which seems to be going on a lot of late), or simply exile everyone who makes a single "bad" post?

personally, i choose to stay, and to try and lead by example

On a positive note, I have have found a whole new respect for the skinners and admins and people here at wc. I knew when to quit. So now I'm acting my age.

Know what? Different people are to be treated differently. Soft-shell people and hard-shell people will not have fun here if they were all threated hard-shell. Shmoopy should have been a good example. She was a soft-shell... was she not?

So was JJ. So am I. Sometimes, it just pays to get on a chat program and talk to these people, listen to what they have to say. When they are heard, they will calm down and behave.

I did just that with JJ. He was calm. He liked the sound of WC. I explained things to him. I listened to him. I told him about the Admins. I told him WC is a large site. I told him Admins go through a lot on a day to day basis....

But now we'll never know if he would come back and form and enjoy WC. I will never know if my words to people will ever have their impact ever again. What I told him was exactly what admins taught me. The only difference, it was personal... it was a one to one. It was a question and answer. It was advice given and provided explained and re-explained.

Some people just require us as members to go the extra mile. I did. I'm a soft shell. I know how to deal with soft shell people. Our admins are hard shells because they need to be. I understand that. I respect that. Sometimes, it's better to let us soft-shell people do the talking... not always, but sometimes.

I don't know if I'll leave. I want to have a chat with Jafo and David and Frogboy first. And definitely WOM. I love this place too much. I think about breaking it off, tears stream down my face. This is my home, but like the rest of you, I want to influene in my own way.

If our darling admins can't handle a person, I wish there would be a few of us soft shell people to step forward to go that extra mile with them personally. This place would be so much happier if people wouldn't get exiled left and right (with the exceptions of people blantently asking for warez material.. go ahead, punch that exile button as hard as you can... if possible I wouldn't mind hitting it).

It only takes one or two people hijacking threads to ruin the entire messageboard. In this instance the Admins have been extremely patient. The guy had been warned more than once. A couple of points should have been handled via personal contact rather than on the messageboard but the outcome is justified.

There has been a trend towards disrespectful and agressive posting the last few months. At times it has made a lot of us consider leaving. But this is our board, they are the one who should leave. A few have been exiled, some have left voluntarily. The remaining few need an attitude adjustment if they are to remain.

Let's make this messageboard pleasant for everyone. It's up to all of us to make it so.

I wouldn't know about soft I am a leo. But I like your idea it has potential to help out people like myself.

And I love a pleasent message board.

You think they were bad.... you should've seen how harshly my ass got grounded. The difference, many of them talked to me personally, explained things, just like I did JJ. It allowed me space to grow and change. Not perfectly, but I managed.

My goal in life is to give that exact same treatment to everybody. But sometimes, we depend on the admins to hold that patience forever. Jafo is patient, I will give him that. He is a patient man.

Patient and helpful. I like Jafo VERY much. He deserves multitudes of praise.

My apologies to BoXXi for calling him names I did not mean. When JJ told me he got exiled, that pushed me overboard. I didn't mean to attack him. I need take a break away from everything.

Like Jafo said, I've been through a harsh semester... everything that goes wrong, I'm going to react with 120% anger and frustration. This elf needs a one week vacation...

Let's not exile anymore. The last place that turned into a banning haven caused a lot of problems. Let's not repeat that.
