SkinStudio future request

Removing fonts

So many skins have fonts in the font section that I do not use. I would love to remove them but find no way to do this.

Is this possible? How about in the future?

Thanks

Need more information on exactly where you are looking.

In SKS when you open "change skin fonts"  When you open that on the left side are the fonts associated with SKS. However to see which are actually used highlight one. On the right side you will see "This font is used by the following sections" If the font is used you will see where in this section. Highlight one till you see something in the section. If nothing shows you can delete but very tricky. Say your skin is call 123. What you have to do is open the skin .uis file. EX: 123.uis. Located in the skin folder. The fonts in the SKS change fonts section if not used don't really take up that much space.

If now you again in the font section. Highlight one and you want to change the font. You will see lots of fonts on the left side. These are Windows system fonts. I would not touch them and remember they are not part of SKS unless you want to add a new one. If you are just changing something like the size or boldness you aren't adding or getting rid of any fony. If you do this one mush always remember to click Apply.

I will try to help more if you have some specific question.

Looking same place as you. I guess what I'd like to see is a right click option or something similar to delete specific font on Edit fonts page.

My guess.

We won't ever see a delete option because all the fonts are system fonts. Now you can actually add a font from another place but not really done anymore if at all.

I don't want to delete the font itself, just the description, such as Titlebar active or inactive.

Just open "change skin fonts" Click on the font you want to change on the left side. The font name will now show on the right side. Place your cursor to the right of the last letter you want to delete and click backspace. Or highlight what you don't want and hit "delete on the keyboard. I'm sure you know how to do any of that.

You can also re-name what ever you want,  if you want.

That will work on fonts you have added Dave, but it will not work on System Fonts. You can edit the information on the right and it will change as you type, but when you click off of it, itgoes back to what was there before.

In answer to the initial question though, you cannot remove the fonts from within SKS itself. The only way to remove fonts is to really know what you are doing and manually make your changes in the skins .uis file in NotePad.

Yes Tom I'm aware of the system fonts. But to me this person is not asking to change the font name. Specifically says

This person said - "I don't want to delete the font itself, just the description, such as Titlebar active or inactive" So thought that was the information I gave.

Also said above this person had to remove fonts in the .uis file above. Between all the information now the request should be able to be done.

It's all good. Now all that is needed is S J N to return so he can fix his situation.

Tried to delete  Font 11 - TN Blank the way you said. Does not delete. I was just curious if it could be done. If not it is not a big deal.

Sorry I must be confused. You said you only wanted to change the description not delete the font. So what I explained was to change the description. Best to leave the actual fonts in SKS as they are system fonts.
