Your Nicks Origin, Now we can all own up......

I'm interested in the origin of Nicknames as some sound interesting, some funny, and some down-right hilarious.

Mine came about due to the fact I have an amputation below the left knee, leaving me with One and a Half legs (+ a new false leg)

And judging by this stupid post half a brain also

Come on Guys & Gals own up, the funnier the better.

My favorite childtime show (The Adventures of Whinnie the Pooh Bear) had a scene in which Rabbit attempted to show off his smarts by reading a smudged letter. Needless to say, he couldn't read it, but his sounds came out somthing like "moo shoo fum ber bumm"... so I just took the first part because it was the coolest in my opinion

Bluesummers was taken so that is why mine has a substitute for "L"

Bluesummers is a character from the anime Trigun. I just like the character and his name.

WytRaven is a actually White Raven it was truncated and phoneticised due to the old 8 character limit on IRC many moons ago(not such a problem these days).
So why White Raven? Well its a title that reflects so much of who I am. I am somewhat of an enigma to those who know me. I have an oddly contridictory personality. I love contrast. The raven has historically (mythically) been portrayed as a symbol of wisdom (my nickname in highschool was The Professor due to the 'depth' of my conversation and my habit of drifting into almost comalike sessions of deep thought, I would suddenly snap out of it and just start raving about what ever it was I had been contemplating to whatever unsuspecting audience happened to be there). White Raven's do exist but the are very rare; I am certainly very unique no doubt. White Raven's are generally shunned and/or feared and hence sometimes brutalised by thier peers; the story of my life.
I coud go on, the parallels are uncany but I think thats enough to get the picture across.

IF your an Aussie, then my nick came about because of my favourite AFL team, the Collingwood Magpies!!

IF your not an Aussie (since you won't know anthing about the AFL), then you can just believe that I like pies!!

Which ever way you look at it, you can believe whatever you like.

Lady Akasha... what does it mean;

Lady well yes I am lady but I chose Lady because I am a big fan of the Medieval/Renaissance era. I love the days when when words such as m'lady and m'lord were about. Chivralies that modern day lacks.

Akasha: If you look at the ancient star (Pentagram),a very misinterpreted ancient symbol. It symoblizes the 5 elements of earth: Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and the top point of the star is Akasha. It means spirit.

that is how I the nick, Lady Akasha came to be.

usually people think I got Akasha from the Vampire Chronicles.

Well, my nik borders on serial stalker! While playing Sega console game with a buddy of mine, he typed in 'jak' since it would only take 3 letters. I liked the name so much that most times that is how I sign off. But then later, I became a HUGE Bruce Willis fan. While watching 'Moon Lighting' one night, I thought, 'Here is a guy who is not the best looking guy in the world (kinda average), doesn't sing great (but very well), and has attitude. He's confident. I like that.' Since that time, I bought my first pair of Wayfarers, drank my first Seagram's Golden Wine Cooler, learned to play the harmonica, pierced my ears, cut my hair into a Ducktail, then I shaved my head (I was loosing my hair anyway), etc. I saw him in the movie 'Jackal' with Richard Gere, and changed to the lettering to match my previous nik. So, there you go.

By the way, for those of you who didn't know, Bruce Willis put out two albums on Motown Records, 'The Return of Bruno', and 'If It Don't Kill You, It Only Makes You Stronger'. The last one was the better of the two. Also, I think he was the first white guy to ever record on Motown.

When I was a little kid, I had an uncle who used to call me "Grande Artur" ( portuguese word for "Great Arthur".

So I started to use "GreyTata" and my preferred nickname.

That's it
