Multi-Monitor Issues

Love the High DPI monitor improvements - but still have an issue...

I have a laptop running at 3840x2160 and Fences works great.

If I plug in my external monitor (also running at 3840x2160) it stretches the fences bigtime:

And when I unplug my external monitor, Fences returns to the normal view on my laptop....

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

Try this:  in the config under "Layout and snapping" is a point "Store my Fences' positions on a per-screen-resolution basis". Check this point and the problem should be gone...

I work with 2 monitors. When I switch to another page of Fences layouts, using keyboard or mouse wheel, pattern changes on 2 monitors at the same time. How to force Fences to act with desktop pages separately on different monitors?

Thank you for responding - but that option is already set. This "stretching" is happening even with it checked off.

I have a similar problem with multiple monitors and also have the per-screen resolution setting checked. When I plug the Surface Book into the dock in order to connect two external (lower res) monitors, not only do the fences show up huge but the icons are also huge and separated very far apart.

I've come to love and rely on Fences for desktop management - but this is frustrating. I actually gave up one of my external monitors because of this issue.

I'm having similar issues with my Surface Pro 3 (Windows 10 Pro). If I choose the "Store my Fences' positions on a per screen basis," in standalone, Classic icon setting results in minuscule icons that are smaller than the regular desktop icons. When docked using Microsoft Surface Dock and two 1920 X 1080 monitors, all my icons move to the right monitor instead of the left where they used to reside. I have noticed that the option immediately beneath this, "When I plug in a new primary monitor, move my icons to it" is checked by default and grayed out so I cannot deselect it.

If I choose "Preserve my desktop layout by scaling my Fences," then my icons stay on the left monitor, but I get the huge Fences boxes every time I redock after running in standalone mode.

I really wanted to like this program as it does help me organize my desktop icons for my workflow. However, the tradeoff of either having to move all my icons back from one monitor to the other or resize all my Fences boxes every time I dock, is an extra, time-consuming step that defeats the whole purpose. I really hope you can fix this before my trial is up, otherwise I will be uninstalling.
