Changing Primary Display

I have an Alienware laptop with 4K display - I also have an external monitor, also 4K display with same resolution as the laptop display.

I have fences on the laptop display, and this is usually DISPLAY #1. But when I game, I change the primary display to the larger monitor.

When I do this, fences gets all screwed up - each fence moves halfway over to the new display (appearing on both screens) and each fence gets super wide.

This is kind of a pain, but I'm not sure if there is anything I can do about it?

I've tried double clicking the desktop to hide everything before changing displays - doesn't work.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!
