Liked old board format - breaking out Pinned topics

If your looking for input, I prefer the old section for pinned topics.

It's seems much hard to distinguish the pinned topics from normal topics. Need more of a visual difference with current style.

Thank you, feedback is always appreciated.

I can see your point and I think the issue you raise is compounded by the fact that this forum in general has alot of sticky posts. Right now we're using the flag icon to signify a post is sticky, and that might not be the best choice. Perhaps a little more visual flair is needed, or the ability to hide sticky posts until they get updated or replied to might help as well.

I'll see what I can do.

The problem I see is the first cell, your flag(sticky) icon looks too much like the "bubble/checkmark".

If maybe you made those a little more unique it may solve the problem, but again, a quick glance to be able to see new posts (non-sticky).

I also thought that something was wrong with my browser, and don't care much for the new format.  But then I'm an old fart, stuck in my ways, hey you kids get offfa my lawn!

Agree with others. Harder to distinguish anything now.

And too many pinned topics that haven't been updated in a long time. Time to let them go...

Hehehehe, same here..... oh well, as long as we can still find the occasional new music that doesn't sound like utter garbage, there is still hope! (thanking Adele).

A bug was discovered that was stopping some people from logging in/staying logged in. I'm rolling back the changes while that gets sorted out.

The majority of the changes were to increase font size and make things more readable. If you could please elaborate what in particular you didn't like about the latest update that would be very helpful. We can see about addressing them asap.

The large 'recently active' header separating recently active posts from pinned posts disappeared.

That header made it very quick and easy to immediately spot the latest recently active posts without having to go on a little sticky flag finding expedition.

That, the current default forum, usualy lists all the recently active posts, the new format decided to stick a whole bunch of posts at the top of the recently active forum that were not active.

The font size was a tad big too. We have Ctrl + Mouse wheel to make our font bigger or smaller by zooming in and out, which is what I do with any website that uses small fonts or large fonts.

I can definitely be easily persuaded to add that header back when there is pinned posts, or atleast some kind of divider.

Anything else you recall disliking? I'm sure it'll be easier to say when the changes are viewable again.

Yea some kind of divider would do the trick nicely :)

Honestly, I did not know there was any pressure to change it to begin with?

I cannot think of any other game forum website setup that is any better? If i did then i would be saying, "hey why not do it this way like these guys did"

I wouldn't worry too much about font size unless they are drastic.

Anyone who doesn't like small fonts would/should know you can simply increase a web page fonts thru your browser.

The main issue I had was normally I scroll down to the "separation" header and look for new posts. WIth the mix of "pinned" posts it was hard for me to find that "break". As mentioned earlier I think you just just distinguished the pinned posts a bit more that would work. Maybe adjust the background css slightly or change the "Pinned" icon at the start as it was too close to the "bubble" or bubble with check mark.

The divider between the pinned posts and the new posts was the big thing for me also.

However, while we're on the topic of forum changes, something I'd noticed recently, possibly not related to today's change, is that in the past when I had completely read a forum thread, the title was unhighlighted and the box to the left of the title was unchecked.  Now that still happens, but only for forum threads that have at least one reply.  If there's only the forum header, the title remains highlighted and the box checked as if I hadn't read it at all.
