[Windows 10] - Multiplicity cant connect to secondary PC

My PCs are on subnet 10.0.0

Hello,

I apologize in advance if there is already a similar topic.

I installed Multiplicity in my PC and Laptop, so I would be able to control both of them with one mouse/keyboard.

When I run mulitplicity on both PCs, the window appears "Network rules may block Multiplicity" with text "Your network has been set to a public network and this will usually block Multiplicity from working correctly." So I manually setup the connection and when I want to go into "Configure computer -> Settings" the window appears "Failed to connect" with text "Please check the firewall settings on the secondary (should not be Public/Guest), the computer name, and the IP adress." So I changed firewall inbound settings to Private, but it didnt help.

I am using Windows 10 on both computers and Multiplicity 3.42 KM build. But my Subnet is 10.0.0.x so it isnt private, but public.

Does this mean it wont work unless I change my home network to Private (Subnet 192.168..x.y.)?! Because I am not the owner of switch, neither have login informations.

Best regards,

frustrated user.

That message means your network connection has been set so the firewall believes it is untrusted.  This means the default Multiplicity firewall settings will not be applied and you cannot connect.  This is not related to your IP address, it is the firewall setting.

Both computers need to be told they are on trusted networks as otherwise you will experience clipboard issues, but if the secondary is set to public it will not connect.

These instructions should help : https://www.photosync-app.com/photosync/en/help/connectivity/answers/how-to-change-the-windows-10-network-type-from-public-to-private.html
