WindowBlinds 4 Released

ODNT users should have it on Stardock Central (after a refresh) or the Component Manager. Registered WB users who are entitled to a free upgrade, go to https://www.stardock.com/support/ and enter your registered email address for the link and serial code. If you have been testing the WB4 betas, you really should uninstall first (trust me on this ).

If you note any problems with included skins, you should probably uninstall, reboot and reinstall. If it all works, fine.

I also thank you for the heads up. FYI--if you have version 3.x the upgrade cost is $10.00. I've just installed 4.0 and looking forward to what it can do.

One thing - if you don't have XP, don't try to get or install WB4. It simply will not work yet (the installer should stop you, but just to make sure . . .)

I just went to object desktop and windowblinds, then just unloaded windowblinds. It kept all my skins and worked perfectly.

WB4 does not show up for me in Stardock Central. I did both refreshes I could find, "Refresh Application Data" under Tools and "Refresh" under view, no 4.0 options.

It still shows the 3.99f for me after I did the above. Is there another refresh somewhere I'm missing?

Hm...OK. I changed my server to Atlanta instead of California and did another refresh and there it is. Too bad both servers aren't updated close together.

Road_Kil: A week or two, I believe. And yes, the california server was just resynched, should be showing up now. It's XP-only because people felt it better to release something that was ready for those who could use it rather than wait several months until those that couldn't, could.

Another tip for people having problems updtating via SDCentral : Clearing the SDC temp-folder (C:\Program Files\Stardock\Temp) might do the trick.

I read at the top of this thread that you should delete the alpha and betas of WB4 before downloading WB4,correct? I unloaded 3.5 but not any of the WB4 beta and alphas. DUH, how would I do that. To tell you the truth I don't know how I unloaded 3.5. The problem being I have two WB files in my Stardock Central. Don't ask me how that happened, I haven't a clue. When I would download a beta, the other would show I needed to download 3.5 and then I would download 3.5 and it showed the beta was available. If I delete one of the WB files, WB won't work. Go figure?
They both say WB4 now. It seems to be working fine. Should I leave it alone? The only thing I can't figure out is how to get Hyperpaint, or even if I can? I have a fairly new 1.20 ghz computer if that helps. Any help is much appreciated.

If it works, leave it.

The Hyperpaint option is in Display Properties/Appearance/WindowBlinds button/Basic Settings/Performance...
