Can't move files to a Fence

Seems that this is a very old issue that keeps repeating.
I tried to move a couple of files from the desktop to a Fence, and I can't manage to do it. I tried dragging them and cutting-pasting them, without results.
And nope, "Lock Fences" is disabled.
Windows 10 Home, Fences 3.0.1
UPDATE: I had to log out and then log back in for Fences to work correctly again. Why does this happen?
