problem installing windowblinds beta with stardock central

Anyone have any idea why I would be getting this error and then unable to install the latest beta of WB4? Better yet, anyone have any clues how to fix it?

-- [Installation] ---------------------------------------------------
Loading: C:\Program Files\Stardock\data\public\wb4\beta\wb4.xml
Result: Failed (could not open file list.)
Installation aborted (failed)

Use Component manager... I couldn't get SDCentral to work either but CM worked fine.

i tried component manager but when it finished the download and i clicked "install" i got a dialog box telling me not to install using component manager because its old and doesn't know enough, like stardock central does (paraphrased obviously). it then proceeded to abort the installation and left me high and dry.

i'll try uninstall and install via sdc and see what happens.

on another note, is anyone noticing weird behavior with the skinning of the system tray? seems to have this odd background no matter what skin is chosen. even mouseover on the icons in the system tray looks odd.

Greenreaper would know, I think he may have posted the answer in sdcentral chat, because he helped so many people with this same thing.

jark, does anyone on DA actually read emails from paid subscribers like myself or are they just thrown out?
I am *jim373 on DA and have a very legitimate problem that has gone ignored.

When my subscription comes back up for renewal, I do believe that will go ignored also....

seems that the uninstall/reinstall of windowblinds got stardock central to recognize whatever it couldn't previously, so now the latest beta installed flawlessly. now if i could figure out the issue with the system tray.

thanks folks!

jake: cool, thanks. i'll see if i can find out from him.

jam: yes, we do read emails from *everyone*. i do not believe *this thread* or *wincustomize* is the place to attempt to handle your issues with deviantART. please email me directly or note me on deviantART.

jark,Be sure to go to Tools/Refresh Application Data,Seemed to work for some.I used Componet Mnager and it pointed WB to a different File location than SDC.
