Or can it be run portable?

That's the make or break for me buying the app... looks great, but I currently use the free SpaceSniffer which I can keep on my Dropbox and easily pull up on any machine without installing.

If anyone knows for sure, would love to hear.

Yes, SpaceMonger requires an install to be able to use it.
