Question about Skin Permissions and WinStyles...

If I were to make a WinStyles suite with a bunch of different skins, and posted it in this way...

WB By xxxx
IP By xxxx
Wall By xxxx
etc.

Do I still need to get author's permission to post such themes? I am in no way taking credit for anyone's work...but I don't want to waste the moderator's time and piss people off, so ask first, right?

yeah, you do need permissions then, It's a nice idea, but if you put 'Something' from you self in there, like the wb skin, than it would be easyer, I am sure if you mail people to use their skins they will give you the permissions. And if they do, in the comment of your winstyle put the links to the used skins.

(how ever you can put togheter your own desktop and upload it in the screenshot section, where you can post links to the parts u have used...)

If you make a Winstyles Suite, rather than a theme, you do not need permission. Suites only contains links to the skins, and not the actual skin files themselves. Therefore, you're not distributing anyone's work.

If you make a Winstyles Theme, however, you do need permission. Themes contain the actual skin files.

It is common courtesy, when posting a Winstyles Suite, to list the author's names and the names of the works.
