Sleep mode kills Deskscapes

New Windows 10 install with latest updates.  Starting/restarting computer is fine.  Waking from sleep results in a black desktop, requiring reconfiguring Deskscapes 8.5.

I have uninstalled, rebooted, installed, rebooted and tried both the KLite and Shark codec packs. Deskscapes works perfectly in every case except when waking from sleep.  Can anyone offer advice?   Thanks in advance!

Same problem. Frozen now. Restarting PC works until monitor goes to sleep.

Windows 10 Version 1511 (OS Build 10586.29)

From about:

DeskScapes appears to be activated on this PC
DeskScapes engine appears to be running
(Generic PnP Monitor) 1 is attached to AMD Radeon R9 200 / HD 7900 Series

EDIT: Really weird now. If I start Quicken 2015, the animation turns back on. When I quit Quicken or minimize it, the animation stops. Restore it, the animation starts. No other program is doing this. Don't kill the messenger; I only reporting behavior.

I solved my issue by going to Power Options in control panel and turning off Require a Password on Wake. That might not be the exact wording. If the option is grayed out there is a selection to enable grayed out items   Good luck!

I am also having this issue. I have submitted a ticket. I just turned off the password on wake option to see if that fixes the issue.

I was having the same issue of the mpeg dreams (not the baked in ones) not reloading whether I awoke from sleep or a simple WIN+L.

I uninstalled k-lite codec (didn't need to reboot since no Lav splitters were running. For everyone else I would recommend a reboot normally. I then reinstalled "as an administrator" with no compatibility changes.  Voila!

Now I can awake from sleep or perform a simple logout and it loads the mpegs just fine now.

for the dreams I use, the simple (not advanced or expert) install of k-lite 11.40 with just the default worked nice and lightweight.

Hope this helps someone

I believe we have this resolved internally so the next update will fix it.

I am unsure on the exact date for that yet.

My Deskscapes stops whenever the monitor sleeps.  I don't ever put the desktop to sleep.  When I waken the monitor, not only is the dream paused but the option Resume Desckscapes with a right click is not there.  In fact there is a grayed out "Pause DeskScapes in the right click menu.

I uninstalled and re-installed as Admin and it has worked for me ever since.

Is the update date getting any clearer? Id love to use the product but my machine locks frequently, for security reasons and it gets old having to restart and setup my background ever time.

We have an update for this, unfortunately for some reason it has not been released yet.

I will chase to find out why.

Got the latest update installed. Deskscapes still freezes upon return from screen sleep mode.

Windows10, two monitors, both set to turn off after 10 minutes of non-use. Computer never goes to 'sleep', just the monitors.

Upon monitor wakeup Deskscapes (applied to monitor #2) frozen. Right click and the 'Pause Deskscapes' option is available. Click on that and the Resume Deskscapes option shows up. Click on that still no joy.

Did you uninstall, reboot and then install the new version?

If not could you do so as it may be the files were not replaced correctly.

I did not. I just used the update process from the Stardock notifications window.

I'll give that a try.

yeah, that didn't do it either. The deskscapes display is still static after monitor wakeup.
