WindowBlinds 8 install and run problems

Intalls but not listed as installed in OD Manager nor is it listed in Windows

I checked the folder c:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock and Windowblinds is listed as a folder there but the program doesn't launch properly from there either.  One file, wb8config.exe, runs something but the window it opens is blank except for the line "Download more skins from WinCustomize" which is a link to that site.  I've run the install a few times, rebooted a few times with no change to the result.

I run as a user, not admin, but can act as an admin if Windows 8.1 prompts me as it should.  I log in as a member of a domain but that's never been a problem before.  I use security software which has never had an affect on it before (symantech antivirus) but that would alert me if it thought there was an issue and it hasn't.

I'm now dl'ing it from downloads.stardock.com and installing then rebooting rather than from Object Desktop Manager to see if that helps.

Object Desktop Manager (ODM) is somewhat buggy. Make sure you uninstall any previous version (one you had downloaded before) is uninstalled completely, run CCleaner after the uninstall and reboot before installing the one you downloaded from Stardock's site. Install that one and reboot. That should clear any problems you may have had.

All previous versions of WB had been uninstalled and I've even wiped and reinstalled the os since then.

Then all you need do is re-install Windowblinds and reboot.

Nope.  As I suspected, it's simply not fully installing.  Still nothing.

Then you should submit a ticket to support@stardock.com with a reference to this thread. Do not reply to the auto-generated response as that will put your ticket back to the end of the line, but wait for an actual person to answer.

I'd suggest disabling any security software during installation, and making sure you are running it as an admin.
