Is there a way to get some sort of a notification when an enemy ship enters your space? On large maps I don't want to manually scan for enemy ships. That is inefficient and boring.
nope, not currently. closest thing is to place a ship near your border and put it on "sentry". It will wake when any ship enters its sensor range.
Unless they romoved it there is a notification tab on the right with planets and ships the enemy ships in your territory is usually near the bottom it doesent ahow you where they are just tells you if they are there or not so its pretty much useless
The only notification I know of I the "ships from player you don't have an open borders agreement with". The problem is that it applies to neutral players as well as players you are actively at war with. Often, I had a dozen messages of that type because a minor race was in my borders and these messages were completely hiding the message about that one enemy transport that was heading for my unprotected colony...
Ahh i could be mistaken thats probobly the notification i was thinking of
