Windowblinds 8 Transparency problem - AGAIN !

It's Quite curious how it started.

I had been using Windowblinds 7 for quite some time now and had this same transparency issue at the top of the window where the control buttons are located.  Sooooo....I decided to upgrade and purchased Windowblinds 8. The transparency problem was not there initially, all the Blind Themes seemed to be displaying properly with no transparency issues at the top of the window, I was very happy because I got to experience the full beauty of the entire Blind Theme. Then.....I installed a blind theme called " Aero Midnight" then BOOM !  The transparency problem came back and now there is no fixing it, even when changing to a theme that had previously been working just fine ! Am I pissed ? " YES ".  I feel like I just wasted money on an upgrade that is still broken. So sad really. I have not heard a difinitive answer in the past regarding this issue. Can it be fixed ?

P.S. - Apparently the problem is only with Google Chrome,  I may just have to make Internet Explorer my Default browser again , unfortunately.

Windowblinds isn't skinning Chrome for some reason. You're not the only one Ace. I had to use one of Chrome's themes to get rid of that problem. Do your close, min and max buttons vanish also.

Yeah , they vanish too Uvah. I can use a couple of the Windows Aero themes in Windowblinds without the vanishing act, but all other themes not so much. I tried using Internet Explorer, but the first time I tried to stream a movie rental from Amazon, it promptly crashed with a BSOD. So I guess I won't be using IE anymore, that's for sure. As for the Google themes, that's a nice little temporary fix, but you don't get the benefit of experiencing some of the great artwork that is put into the design of those control buttons & window border.

Close Google Chrome.  All copies.  Then reopen it.  Should hopefully be fine.

Chrome will glitch if you swap from Aero to a WB skin whilst it is open.

Change your Chrome theme to iJobs or Apple Theme, or anything else you personally find interesting. Problem solved (at least it is here).

I uninstalled Windowblinds. Then cleaned the registry. Reinstalled Windowblinds and chose a non-Aero theme. Problem still exist !   I've heard your solution elsewhere in other threads. It simply is not the solution to the problem. I don't understand how an elite team of coders is unable to identify and correct this "glitch". ????

AceMatrix - Unfortunately, it's not that simple.

Perhaps I believe in you more than you do yourselves. Great achievement is rarely a simple thing.

I just chose a theme and stuck with it. No more transparency and the buttons are right there easy to see. WB skins everything else and IMO, I think that's the important part. I don't use my browser that much anyway, maybe an hour or two each day.

I also don't want to make this a big issue. Lord knows there are much more important problems in our world today. If it can't be fixed, I'm o.k. with that.

Well......we could all have a WhiteHat party and rag on it.  :P

I use one of Chrome's themes and have Chrome fully excluded in WB Config.  I think I remember seeing that you're not supposed to exclude it, but that's what I'm doing and it seems to work great for me (on Win7 and the 8.12 version of WB).

That's an interesting idea Dave. I actually had never heard of anyone doing the exclusion thing. I'm glad it's working for you. Maybe I'll give it a try if I ever re-install WindowBlinds 8. I have it un-installed for right now as I'm deciding if I still want to use it on my system.

I do mean that it works great for me in terms of working with the Chrome theme - I end up with a well-functioning Chrome theme on Chrome, not the Windowblinds theme.  When I first read your reply 2 I thought you were saying the Chrome themes weren't working for you, I think I was going in the wrong direction.

I didn't exclude Chrome from WB. Just one of Chrome's themes and it works, no fuss no bother.

Same thing here Dave, on Windows 7 and Windows 8.1.
