Uninstall Object Dock Free On Windows 10

Uninstall Object Dock Free On windows 10

I get the following error on trying to uninstall ObjectDockFree on windows 10 with dell dock (which I still want).  I would like to install the paid version of Object Dock but must get rid of Object Dock Free First.

Failed to load plugin: C\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\ ObjectDockFree\Uninstall\Unicode.Imb (#1).

I have pictures of the dialog boxes and if it was possible to insert the image I would send them as well.

This is on a Windows 7 -> Windows 8.1 -> Windows 10 PC.  This PC has the latest release build of windows 10 (64 bit).

Running "C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\ObjectDockFree\uninstall.exe"  manualy results in the diaog box “Invalid start mode: archive filename.”

I would suggest manually deleting the files or a third party uninstaller if you're unable to remove it the regular uninstall route.

If I thought just deleting the files would do a clean uninstall I would do it.  What about the registry?

Go to iobit.com and download the free version of Advanced System Care. Install it and you'll notice it comes with its own uninstaller. Open that and scroll down to Objectdock then click on uninstall, it'll take it out. As for any files left behind just click on powerful scan and done. Hope this helps

You can get that same uninstaller as standalone, Ross. Advanced System Care is optional, but unnecessary. Revo works well too.

I like ASC, but it's overkill if you just need an uninstaller.

That said, I find that no uninstaller fully removes registry items in all cases. I usually have to manually clean the registry for products such as Norton, and a few others.

I won't go into the registry because I don't know what I'm doing in there. Besides...I wouldn't know what to look for anyway.

If you ever have a problem uninstalling  “Object Dock Free” you may what I did.  Reinstall  “Object Dock Free” and then uninstall it.  It did work in this case.  No need to touch the registry.
