So Today I Purchased the Bluray Boxed Set of Game of Thrones.... Seasons 1 - 4

hehe, I can see a GOT marathon in the near future

The Title pretty much says it all.... except for the price.  I could have bought the 4 seasons individually for AUD$39.95 online at JB Hi-Fi, but I just happened to be outside a bricks n' mortar version so decided to pop in for a gander.  I saw the boxed set on special for $120.00 and decided a 40 buck saving was enough encouragement so I walked out with it.... after paying, that is.

The 5th season is now available, but at $56,95 I'll wait until the price lowers some.

If only it was all available in 3D here.

I've already seen the first 4 seasons on pay TV, and I've got the 5th recorded on the Foxtel box for future viewing.  I've not had much of a chance to catch up with it as yet.  I've been awaiting a housemate who's into it as well to sit and watch it with me, but one thing or another always came up, and now he's away for 2 weeks.  Been gone a week now, so maybe by the time I've watched the 1st four seasons again he'll be back and I can tie him down 'til season five's over.

Yeah, I'm building myself quite a collection of Blurays now.  A while back I got the boxed set of Stargate Atlantis seasons 1 - 5 for AUD$59.95.... was going out cheap in a clearance special.  I also got the 5 seasons of Fringe for $62; Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles for $19.95;  Seasons 1 - 4 of Falling Skies for $45.95 and seasons 1 - 3 0f Orphan Black for $39.95.

I've pretty much seen all of it over the years, except perhaps for an episode here or there, but they're shows I'd like to revisit, and the Foxtel box simply doesn't cater for that much stored viewing.

I'd not looked into my Bluray player too much before, but my sister recently bought herself one and reignited my interest as we spoke about the features, etc. Anyway, mine is now connected to the home network to steam content throughout the house; is connected to the internet for browsing, etc; and I can stream Netflix should I so desire... not to mention viewing 3D and hooking up external HDDs to view home videos, photos and listen to music.

Shoot, all that stuff sitting there for yonks, and all I did was play Bluray/DVD discs... like this thing is the complete media centre and I never thought to use it as such before now.

Yes, I've loved every episode of it and can't wait for more.  Hopefully season 4 is just around the corner.

Although I've watched every episode thus far on Foxtel, it's a series that one could easily watch again... and on Bluray there 'll be no damned ad breaks., not to mention freedom to view at any time rather than to a TV schedule.
