Some of the highlights of the specific issues resolved are :

If a custom theme was in use with a texture set there was a menu painting issue after login

If you clicked three times on a blank area of the left hand list the menu would close

Autohide taskbars had overlapping issues with the search and taskview buttons

There was a small line next to the start button when the search and taskview buttons were hidden

The start button was on occasion inconsistent when opening the win10 menu

Start10 UNLOAD no longer prevents Start10 from loading up again in the same session later.

Most frequently used apps list was filtering out the out of the box predefined defaults (Get Started, Get Skype, People etc).  Running those applications from Start10 would have made them appear though.

I'm having a graphical problem I hope you can help me with.

I'm using the default windows 10 start button, together with small taskbar buttons and a quick launch toolbar.

As you can see in the picture below (which I have enlarged for clarity) there is a graphical bug with the shading. I would prefer the shading had a consistent width (same width as picture no. 2).

1. standard, nothing clicked.

2. Mouse hovering over start button.

3. start button clicked and the start menu is open.

4. start button is clicked again and the start menu is closed.

It would also be nice, if you could include the 3 top start buttons (Windows 10, Start10 and Default) inside the start button folder, because I would very much like to edit these image files. For example, I have been trying to replicate the Default windows 10 button without the click/hovering shading, but I simply cannot get the same crisp icon you have made.

If the graphical problem cannot be solved, please at least make the files available like the other start buttons.

Hope you can help. Thanks

Oh finally the little line that kept appearing next to the start button if using a custom theme and the task view and Cortana buttons are hidden is fixed. That was bugging me so much! Thanks!

Are you using 1.0 or 1.01 beta?

I was using 1.0, but I see it has been fixed in the beta!
Thanks so much!

Would it be possible for you to make the files available to these start buttons?

Thanks!

Default is included with the other start button images.

Start10 is based on the icon and Windows 10 is the OS start button image and does not exist as a file.

Is it possible that the "Send To" Dropdown isn't working in th beta?

Could you be more specific as to when you are having problems with it and from where?

When i rightclick on a shortcut in the "All Programs" area in the Startmenu (Start10), there is the point "Send to" (where normaly can create desktopshortcuts or send to another drive) and it's just an empty, gray block.

'Send To' list displays correctly for me on my setup.

Using Start10 v1.01 Beta.

For some reason I cannot get the look to change with this beta (EDIT: tried with 1.00 also.) This is on a completely fresh install of Windows 10 10240. I've tried reinstalling it, but no go. I have my machine fully updated via Windows Update, and no other apps that could interfere with the start menu is installed.

Also, as I was typing out this post, I noticed that the line next to the start button is still there.

The line issue is fixed in the beta v1.01.

I do not have an ETA at this time.

I'd very much like more customization on the left side of the start menu, when using modern style.

How my current start menu looks like:

I'd like for it to look something like this:

So for this to be possible we need a few settings:

1) Hide program labels

2) Hide program sub-menus (The arrows you see next to paint.net and uTorrent)

A few extra customization things I would like to see:

1) Change icon/tile sizes in the modern style

2) Be able to freely change the placement of icons/tiles, so they don't flush to the top.

3) Freely resize the start menu when using modern style (by draging the top right corner). When resizing the start menu, it could show the outline of all tiles, so it's reasy to see how many rows and columns currently present.

The way I would like for the left side of the start menu to work for me, is just like a homescreen of a smartphone. Where I can freely place apps wherever I want.

Is this something you would be willing to look into implementing?

I've submitted this feature request to the developer. Thank you for the nice write up about it. :)

I am thinking about buying start 10 but from everythig Ive read, the released version is incredibly buggy for an RTM.... is there any hope for an official 1.01, or will it launch in 2050?

It's actually pretty good, but the line on the right hand side hasn't gone away with the latest version.

I'm having this issue when using 1.0. When taskbar is set to auto hide, the icons of opened programs could not appear on the taskbar. This issue doesn't appear when it's not set to auto hide. Is this already fixed in this beta or not?

You can trial it for 30 days. I'd like to see any issues you experience posted to a ticket if you would.

It should have done.

If not it sounds like a problem with installation of the update.  The easy way to tell is go to the Start10 installation folder, find Start10_64.dll, right click on it and select properties and then look at the digital signing tab and see what date it was signed.  It needs to be August 20th or later to be 1.01.

A little bit off topic.. Its nice to see mods/devs replying to this thread, as well as constant progress on start10. I have the menu installed on 1 Tower, 1 TouchScreen laptop, and 1 HPSlate7 tablet...

How ever I have another tower still stuck on Windows 8.1 due to the fact there's no working version of deskscape for WIn10. And I refuse to leave it behind on my main gaming rig... any indication when deskscape beta for WIn10 will hit the nets. I have 1 PC that its a must have and 3 other units that I would like to put on it but not really required...

PS I can't stand looking at static wallpaper images ever since Vista DreamScene was released.. Im officially a little ADHD about the hole thing .. My backgrounds have to constantly be *moving* or I lose my mind..lol 100% legit too

DeskScapes is in development, but there's not a date I can mention at this time.
