Cannot add apps and folders Windows 10

We cannot add Apps and Folders in our new Windows 10 with ObjectDock version 2.20.0862.

A stop-sign apears when we will add an App or Folder.

If the Dock should be locked for some reasons where can we unlock the dock?

With an out of the box (a fresh  ObjectDock)  install this is the case.

Hope there is a solution for.

Thanks Milian

The way I added apps to OD with windows 10 was to create a desktop shortcut and then drag the shortcut to Object Dock. After I was finished I just turned the view desktop icons off.

Hope that helps.

Here you see the forbidden icon.
I see no toggle for lock/unlock
In the settings.

Any help is welcome.
Thanks. Milian

Normally you just drag the executable and drop it right on the dock.

If it has no icon displayed or if it does not work try this:
Close Objectdock.
Launch Objectdock with administrative privileges.
Right click Objectdock executable then select launch as Admin.
Once loaded drag and drop the executable onto the dock.

If it has no icon displayed then right click and apply one for it.
Let me know if it worked.

For other executables like MS edge you will need to create a shortcut with the correct path.

Quoting benmanns, reply 6

Right click or press and hold on an empty area on your desktop, and click/tap on New and Shortcut.
Copy and paste the location below into the location area,

 %windir%\explorer.exe shell:Appsfolder\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe!MicrosoftEdge

press next
now name it Microsoft Edge for the name, and click on the Finish button.

move the shortcut to a destination where you liketo have it ( if you dont want to have it on your desktop )

Again launch Objectdock as admin.
And drag the shortcut you just created onto it or right click objectdock and add it manually.

If you find this too confusing
here is a tutorial for the shortcut explained step by step

Thanks benmanns for your reply.

Unfortunaly performing Object Dock  as  Administrator still refuses to add Apps or Folders to a Dock.

It is forbidden to add anything as you can see in the picture. No problem here with W8.1.

But under Windows 10 ObjectDock refuses adding.

but it should work that way...
Was your system upgraded to windows10 via desktop update or did you do a clean install with iso for windows10
Or is this running in VirtualBox?

If you did the desktop based upgrade you might need to uninstall fences and install once again.
Another thing could be that your installer got corrupted (but thats far off i think.)
Still, to be sure please redownload the installer from the Stardock Homepage.
Disable your Antivirus for  5 minutes once your done downloading.
Launch the installer with Admin priveledges.
Once installed launch OD again as Admin.

I hope that works, in case that it doesn#t, i would recommend to contact Support.
IRC support  or Submit a ticket

Have you tried running this under Compatibility Mode for Windows 8 under properties. Click Windows 8 and run as an Administrator...

This might sound strange and I am not sure this will work but sign in with a local account instead of your Microsoft account and then try it. If you cannot even create shortcuts than there is something else going on besides just an OD problem. Sounds like there are ownership issues and sometimes even running as administrator wont resolve it. I was having some issue after I installed 10 and using a local account resolved them. Unless you absolutely need the sync functions with the Microsoft account I would recommend the local account, anything less MS is a good thing. Again I am not going to say this will fix your problem but give it a shot.

Hi Guys,

I did all the suggestions you made.
But none of them helps.
I think it is computer related. Probably a conflict with another program.
Sometimes ObjectDock freeze when Editing the Settings.
Thanks anyway for your efforts,
Milian

p.s. I'm using now RocketDock without any problems on Windows10.
