The taskbar texture in v1.0 is not working for me...

Also, I reported the Cortana and Task View buttons swapping around with v0.99 and was told that it would be fixed for the final v1.0 release. Well it is still occurring on my system unfortunately. If I click on Cortana then its icon swaps places with the Task View icon. As I type now the Task View is showing to the right of the Start icon and the Cortana icon is to the right of the Task View icon. :\

This issue itself is not that big of a deal except that I keep clicking on the wrong icon and switching to the Task View because the Cortana icon was there only moments before.

Please can you fix this?

*EDIT*

IGNORE the above...seems I had to restart my PC for the software to be fully installed, though I was not prompted to do so for some reason (I installed this via the Stardock Central tool). To confirm, the taskbar textures DO work and the Cortana/Task View icon switching bug is FIXED.

Sorry about that.

the taskbar issue with the Edge Browser icon and task view icon remains in the release. Otherwise, Start10 works flawlessly and offers many useful access shortcuts. Nice job, but this issue needs to be addressed. After a few uninstalls and reinstalls, the issue remains for me... but the offerings with Start10 are significant and the icon issue with the task bar will be endured so I can use Start 10...

Did you install via ODM / SDC?

If so please uninstall, reboot and reinstall using the direct store download.

I would strongly recommend against the use of SDC / ODM for installing software  It seems all too often to be involved in files not being replaced correctly issues

the issue with the taskbar remains after the install from the direct download but it seems to only bee with the task view icon. (I rebooted before checking the install)  All the settings remained, should the former install maybe be cleaned out? If so, whats the best approach? thanks

What does this mean;

  • Option to remove Start10 search and swap it with Cortana

I assumed it meant Cortana would be integrated into the start menu, but all it does for me is remove the search from the start menu and nothing else.

If you type when the menu is open it will automatically show Cortana search.

Hi!

Before I buy or install this app, I would like to know if there is an option for language selection. I'm interested, but only if there is a French language translation. Maybe you would consider that not all visitors or members are Americans. Unless our money is dirty?

Found a problem with start10, when you click on the windows10 menu (from start10 menu) it clears and goes to desktop. Solution is to right click on the menu option and change the 8's in this address to 10's "C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\Start8\Start8.exe" Metro should look like this after "C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\Start10\Start10.exe" Metro works fine after changes.

Did you upgrade over an existing Start8 installation?

Sticky corners are still not disabled on my system, I have a triple monitor setup with the centre screen being the main display.  I have removed the check-mark from 'disable sticky corners' rebooted, and then check-marked it again and rebooted with no effect at all.  I can't get rid of the sticky corners.  Had the same issue with .99 but the problem persists after 1.0.

I have not had any issues with Start10 v1.0 except for one time when opening my Games shortcut as a context menu caused Explorer to crash and restart. I do have a LOT of games in that list though and it can take 10-15 seconds just to populate the first time I open it!

One minor quirk I have noticed though is that when I uninstall a Windows 10 app from the Windows 10 Start menu (by right-clicking and selecting Uninstall) then its shortcut is still left in the Universal Applications context menu of the Start10 menu. Obviously, this link is dead as the app is no longer installed.

I am not sure whether that is a Windows 10 bug or a Start10 one (since it may create a folder to store the links to the apps in). If it is the latter then Start10 may need to refresh or check these links are still valid periodically. As far I know it is not possible to uninstall Windows 10 apps directly from the Start10 Universal Applications menu hence why I have to switch to the default Windows 10 one in order to do so.

I raised a support ticket a week ago but no response. I got an offer of Stardock10 at a reduced price, but when I tried to use it I was told I don't have Startdock8, but I think I do!
