A lower resolution for all the stuff

Hi to everybody.
I am a new citizen in this site, and I am very surprised, because I think that your work is awesome!! Many of the wallpapers, or themes are just an artistic creation, and I think about the time you take to realize them, and it's FOR FREE!!! It's really amazing. But I have a little request: can you make some of the wallpapers, or logons, or themes to be use in a resolution of 800x600? Maybe you can think "Geek, who use it!?!?!", but, in my case, I have to work using a maximum resolution of 800x600, and I think there is more people with this limitation. So, if you can't do it, I understand, because all that I see requieres a big effort to realize, but, in the other hand, you can invite more persons to enjoy our club. Thanks in advance.

No, you have a very legitimate request and one that has already been brought to my attention at least.
I always assumed that people here wanted a very high resolution and I have since been startled to discover
that 800 x 600 is probably "the" most used resolution by a majority of users....

Jam, the survey from several weeks ago was interesting.
I think the bulk of people use 1024 but I can't recall.
CRAFT syndrome strikes again!
Not enough 1280 walls for me, usually 1024, 1150 or 1600 ..... >

Most common is usually 1024 on most 'surveys'.
Then 1280....but with those two sizes covered, and the option to 'stretch' your wall in Windows, you really have 'em all covered anyway...[except for some very odd few monitor res formats]...

Yes, XP certainly eliminates the need for a specific resolution...
Anyone who feels the need for 800 x 600 let me know...
I would be happy to try and help you!

Hmm, how about simply shrinking a wall to the desired size in a good graphics program ? It is not that difficult.

Well, thanks for your responses. I sell computers in Venezuela, and the 90% of monitors that I sell are 13" (12.5" view)or 14" (12.8 - 13.5" view). Nobody buys a 17" or 21" monitor because it's very expensive here. So, you can imagine how difficult is to set a resolution to 1024 in this kind of monitors, because the fonts are very smaill. And I have to use glasses, too . That's the motto of my request. I know that I can change the size of any jpg file (I use Irphanview), but, in some cases, the new resolution "change" the imagen a little. And I tried to use a desktop downloaded from here but it only fits in 1024 resolution. I read a message that says that you make a survey, and the most used resolution was 1024. And that's ok, because I think that you need a good monitor with a big screen in order to make your creations. But what about the rest of us? You know, there are many users with smalls monitors that can take advantage of your creations, because we aren't creators. Do you understand what is my point?. Thanks again, and I apologize because I know my english is just a mesh.

The main problem is, that You will loose some functionality on resized Desktop X Themes. Or (as I did with Envision DX) simply don't pack all You have in mind into the theme. But there are some Desktop X themes out there that resize more or less properly (multi resolution)...

Actually, I was wrong about that survey, it was on a different site...
There the majority of users use 800 x 600, but on this site it is mostly 1024 x 768 I think.

Right now, it's probably equal between the 800x600crowd and the 1024x768 crowd; about 40% each, the other 20% split between other resolutions. But the thing is that people who answer the surveys on customisation sites are more likely to have higher resolutions than the casual users. Son't forget that most downloaders here are anonymous, they don't write comments, they don't answer surveys, they just download. Those guys are mostly 800x600 people.

And here I went and took out the 800 x 600 version in some of my walls to make them a smaller download.
Sorry about that all you 800 x 600 people.....

Hi again. Well I am still looking this site, and I repeat: it's just wonderful. And I don't read all the comments in the homepage, but now I understand the level of quality that the webmaster tries to keep. I send a very big applause for this, 'cause sometimes I found many sites full of garbage. And, if anybody just makes the resize of the art, can send me an email to wilmers@cantv.net. Maybe if I learn how to make the changes by myself (and adquiring the respective permission from the author) I ca ntry to upload at this site. But I don't wanna try to create a brand new one, 'cause I know my limitations.
Thanksagain for your response, it's very good to find people like you.
