Q & A ... an ongoing quest for longest thread!

Saw this thread on a message board somewhere else (can't remember where at my age the memory is the first thing to go! )

Be interseting to see what Wincustomites make of it!

Basicly, a question is asked, an answer is given, another question is asked by the person who answered the last question... Trick is to try to answer the question befor anyone else does!

Let's try to keep all questions and answers non skinning/grafix/OS/anything computer related?!

As i started the thread.... I get the joy of asking first question!

MM, I guess you can?

My impression of MD was the butt wipe that gave me my first of three nerve block shots in my lower spin friday. Said it will stop the pain, yeah right, freaking sadist...

I've got Spinal Steno of the Lumbar region in five places, from a wreck back in 1985. I found out that running a 1969 454 Monty running at over 150 mph into the ass end of a Fire doing 10 mph hobbing it on a flat is not a good option to take, even if your not the one driving. I screamed at the guy driving, turned back to look out the front window and was stuffed under the dash bent in half in a matter of seconds. It was around 3:00 in the morning on New night, the guy with the flat had pissed someone off and they had kicked out his lights and stabbed his front drivers tire with a pick... No street light to speak of, about every 300 yards, it was on the Candy Bridge causeway. They thought I wouldn't be able to walk, then someone got smart enough to ask if I had any moles on my neck and I told them I don't know, never looked, they did, I do and no shattered neck with splitters strewn throughout my neck...

The insurance companies bailed, I didn't pursue, and put up with the pain and discomfort for years, until about 4 years ago and it got to be too much. Started doing less and less, then I started loosing feeling in my arms and legs at odd times, like walking, sitting, laying down, or the pain that you wish was a toothache so you could live with it would come on.

This one doctor wanted to cut me up and remove parts of my vertebra, and do fusion in two places in my neck and then 4 places in my lower back, but he couldn't even remember my name batten visits, so I ran fast and far and didn't look back, this new guy wants to try pain management, So...

he's a freaking sadist I tell ya, a regular Vlad the Impaler

IPlural, I know the operation that you are talking about sounds awful, but I know people who have done it (including an aunt who just had it done) and they have instant relief. I have been doing pain management for Rheumatoid arthritis for 17 years (since I was 13) and that's for the birds. Pain tires you out. If I could have an operation that would give me relief, I would. But, until they can transplant my brain, I'm stuck with it

Anyway, the surgery involves a metal support in your neck to support your head. they remove the bad vertebrae and replace it with cadaver bone which will grow to your own. It has about a 6 month total recovery time and you have to wear a neck brace, but it will take the pressure off your nerves so that you can get relief. The problem with vertebra is is that they won't heal themselves. If you don't get them fixed, they will crush others causing more pain. Probably pain management will work once you go numb from the neck down due to all your nerves being pinched.....but that's just my cheery outlook on it all

sweating the petty things.... I wouldn't pet anything sweaty.. .

also... im sorry to hear about the car crash....kinda makes me want to slow down... i have a camaro with bored over 350... so I know how fast those classics are... my advice to you would be... to try... I wouldn't give up on the doctors just yet... get some more advice if you need to... but make an educated decision on what could be done to make you feel better... that's my advice, take if you want, or ignore it... it's up to you.. either way I hope things better for you... and I will pray for you...
