Missing Elerium on Insane Spiral Galaxy

Just a quick note, I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed, but I started a game earlier in the week, and even after many MANY hours of play, and a good 1/5 of the map revealed (those Insane maps are.., well, insane!), I have not found a single Elerium source. Not sure if this is a known thing or what, but I'm going to start a new game and see what happens there...

Try the fow cheat and reveal the map to have  quick glance around. Also have you set nebular to rare or none? That will reduce the number.

Onthat note I have seen a few Posts similar to yours. But most have been an issue with the initial map settings.

Thanks for that Zim, I had a look around and there are plenty of nebulas (nebulae?) around, but none appear to have Elerium.

I generally have nebulas and asteroids at common or higher as I feel they kind of are. Black holes are rare, but theres still a few of those with antimatter laying about

I am not sure if I can attach screen shots..,I will link to a google plus album: https://plus.google.com/111230192355757329982/posts/3ERe6HFXsC9?pid=6151614154703959266&oid=111230192355757329982

Do you know what you set the resources as?

Anyway, what i can suggest is set a support ticket and add your save to it, they can check what settings the game had when it was made and various other things.

Basic troubleshooting steps.

https://esupport.stardock.com/index.php?/default_import/Knowledgebase/Article/View/496/161/general-galactic-civilizations-iii-troubleshooting

(probably useless in this case)

If you end up sending a ticket you need to also run and attach the file the Support tool makes

Also might be worth searching the forum for "Elerium", i cant remember where it is but there was a post with the same issues and one of the devs did reply, im not sure if they found a solution or a fix.

Thanks again Zim, I might raise a support ticket now.

Yes, the settings were:

Galaxy Type:

 - Galaxy Size: Insane

 - Type: Spiral

Galaxy Options:

 - Star Frequency: Common

 - Planet Frequency: Abundant

 - Habitable Planet Frequency: Uncommon

 - Extreme Planet Frequency: Rare

 - Asteroid Frequency: Abundant

 - Nebulae: Common

 - Black Hole Frequency: Rare

 - Resource Frequency: Uncommon

 - Precusor Relic Frequency: Uncommon

 - Ascention Crystal Frequency: Rare

 - Anomaly Frequency: Common

I just tried again with these settings, and with resource frequency set at uncommon, I was able to reproduce the issue...

Yeah ticket is the best way to go, just put all the information and testing you told me in it. That way you know for sure it will be recorded and looked into :)
