Discovered part of reason why my 6.1 Game crashes after clicking on a ship

All you do is click on a ship and ...YER....OUT!

I Have been having problems with the game crashing right at the start whenever I clicked on a ship.  I did all the trouble shooting steps.  As it turns out this was a complete waste of time.  Why would my machine that had been running the game well, suddenly stop running it well?  Turns out the problem lies with custom races.  My one custom race, plus the terrans would not run properly, I.E. crashing after clicking on the first ship in the very first turn.  The only thing that I can figure is that I had created custom ships for these races.....I also noticed in the beginning of the debug.err file that it notes certain ships for which Mods are not found...I'll paste the line in below:

Debug Message: No files found matching mask C:\Users\lyal\Documents\My Games\GalCiv3\Designs\*.component
Debug Message: WARNING: Ship Design: Chicken of Death could not be loaded because it requires mods that are not present on this computer. These will be treated as cosmetic components without any stats.
Debug Message: WARNING: Ship Design: M1 could not be loaded because it requires mods that are not present on this computer. These will be treated as cosmetic components without any stats.
Debug Message: WARNING: Ship Design: Haymaker1 could not be loaded because it requires mods that are not present on this computer. These will be treated as cosmetic components without any stats.
Debug Message: WARNING: Ship Design: Screamin' T-Bone could not be loaded because it requires mods that are not present on this computer. These will be treated as cosmetic components without any stats.
Debug Message: WARNING: Ship Design: Terrible Chicken could not be loaded because it requires mods that are not present on this computer. These will be treated as cosmetic components without any stats.
Debug Message: WARNING: Ship Design: USS Reagan could not be

So, my question would be that in the "cosmetic treatment" of these ships something is awry?

Thanks so much for your support, and this game is really terrific and just about worth all the headaches...

Doing this will delete all of your mods, save games, custom factions, custom ship designs, and settings. Do not do this. Instead, rename the folder to something else, such as "galciv3-old" to see if this will even work.

You can also choose "do not use mods" in the options at start up

Thanks you guys!!  I'll try some of this stuff...I know it's not my hardware or anything like that.  I'm not going to go through the driver update thing again...

I just also discovered that I had made two custom ships for the Altaran Race, and I couldn't even reload the saved game.

I just tried starting it up using the "do not use Mods" option, and no dice.

Still crashes.

Island Dog: I've already submitted a ticket with that data on it.....

Should I do it again?

I've renamed my old Galciv3 directory to Galciv3OLD, and deleted local game content.  I'm now reinstalling.

It seems I tried this before, but my mods still seemed to be with me.....

I've forwarded this forum post and some more information to the developers relating to the issue you're seeing. Thanks for reporting it.

I am not real familiar with this, but did you copy the ships designs into the GC program itself where all the other ship designs are? Another contributor game wouldn't recognize the designs if they are in the Mod folder. If you did , sorry about my 2 cents worth.

No.  Found out that the steam sync service was bringing them back!  Disabled that, and now I can at least start a game.  Thanks for your. 03!!
