You may want to start with something a little easier. WindowBlinds is a bit involved and takes even an experienced skinner quite a while to complete. But if you're gung ho and want to dive into it, the only 'tutorial' I'm aware of is here: http://www.windowblinds.net/skinning/

Have fun.

There's also this tutorial http://www.aleksyandr.com/tutorial.htm

Aleksyandr's tutorial is great - I've got the offline copy of it kept on both of my systems (and someday, maybe someday, I'll actually finish doing a skin for... well, anything. =D)

Y'might also wanna try skinning something simpler just to get the feel for it. AstonShell, AltDesk, Sysmetrix, and ObjectDock are very easily skinned. Iben's right, too. To learn the software, you just have to tinker around with it.

You'll get it!

Playing with SkinStudio gets you familiar with the parts of the skin.

When you get familiar with the parts then there are three things you need to be familiar with
1: Margins
2: Margins
3: Margins
Also, Margins

Well I have been playing around with SkinStudio a little more now and loading skins i have downloaded and I think I am beginning to understand margins. One more question. Do you make the individual parts of the skin, say for example the scroll bar, with a program such as Photoshop and then apply them to the skin using SkinStudio? I'm not quite sure how that works. Thanks for your replies.

Yes, you make them in a paint program and you apply them in skinstudio.

PSP7, Photo Shop, Gimp etc, etc. Any paint program that you have or can use.

I wonder why they named the one program Gimp. Do you think it might be missing something.
