You need to unlock the Icons on the desktop then you can drag them into Fences.  :sun:

.. and then I can choose for Big Icons, Sized Icons, Classic Icons, Snap icons to grid, Line icons out, Lock icons, Show Desktop icons and that is it. What should I choose...

By the way I translated the above myself because on my screen it is in Dutch and I did not want to make it even more difficult for you...

I feel a bit like a a you know what*_* .... but thanks for helping me

Select the size (if one isn't all ready) and check Show Desktop Icons, leave the others unchecked.  Once you have done that you should be able to drag and drop icons into a Fence.  :sun:

No I can not. Think I am going to stop. Using it for years now. Changing my system to a W8.1 system is probably the end of our relationship. Thanks for trying to help me anyway, it is a pitty. But tjhere are some alternatives.

I don't see Fences associated with your account with Stardock. Are you using the latest Fences 2.13?

I do not think so but I am using the version I have been using for ages now.

It is called Fences_public version 1.0.0.0

Functioned great, uptill now!

That's a very old version and that's not supported on Windows 8.1. As was said above, Fences 2.13 is the latest version.
