Fences V2.13 - 100% SSD Usage

Howdy there,

After thinking there was something wrong with my old PC I had stopped using Fences, my SSD would shoot up to 100% usage all the time and would make Windows Explorer and Fences highly unresponsive. I splurged a little after the holidays and got a brand new X99 system, and I was a bit shocked to see the exact same behavior as before.

As soon as I setup a portal folder, the system drive will start to get usage spikes and shortly gets stuck at 100% with small dips here and there.

I decided to find an older version, 2.01 to be exact. And although I can see some "unusual" drive usage, but they are in the 25% range and quite rare, as opposed to the permanent 100% usage of 2.13.

Has anyone else experienced this? Great software, extremely annoying little bug. :)

I've created a ticket for you and you should receive it shortly. I'd like to get some information from you about this so we can report it to the developer.

Yup, happens every time.  It just makes sense to go to the source to download programs.  In this case the source would be Stardock.  :sun:

But does Stardock have a archive of older versions? I'm only able to download the latest one from my Account Page.

If there is please tell me! :D

Were I you, I'd go here: http://www.herdprotect.com/

Install the scanning app and let it do its work. If "iffy" stuff is found on a significant number of engines, I'd look up how to remove it/them, and only after cleaning thoroughly proceed to install the "official" version.

New SD software... "Object Lesson"...downloads and backs up your software, ;)
