ShadowFX not working after Windows Update KB3000850

Hi,

I didn't know where to post this, since there is no forum dedicated to ShadowFX, so I posted this here.

Just a few days ago, I used windows update and:

1. Initially had problems updating KB3000850

2. Was advised to i) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth and ii) sfc /scannow

3. Afterwhich, KB3000850 was able to install to completion

4. Then after rebooting, I found that ShadowFX wasn't working any more.

To try fixing this, I uninstalled ShadowFX, cleaned my files and registry, then installed ShadowFX again, but it still refuses to work.

Can any good samaritan help me please?

Sincerely,

Ray

I suggest submitting a support ticket to Stardock.

In lieu of seeking support assistance I'd just do what I have several times HAD TO DO [not related to Stardock programs] and that is uninstall the offending update.

Too often MS releases things which cause issues with things I prefer to have run correctly than 'just another spurious update'.

I had to reverse [uninstall] both Internet Explorer 10 and 11 in favour of 9 because both those 'newer/better' browsers crashed my Flight Sim.

And also too often I am Googling the net in search of solutions to errors caused by MS Update, so much so that these days every 'update Tuesday' is met with an involuntary cringe....'will the machine survive this one?' ...;)

I'm getting the same problem, and I've just installer some windows updates. Now I can't use ModernMix, ShadowFX, WindowBlinds and some others since they're always saying my license as expired, but when I enter my license (or activate with stardock account), I get a message saying the app was succesfully activated. It still says my license is expired after I close the activation confirmation window though. (I got Object Desktop Infinite, if that helps)

Your issue sounds very different and I would recommend you contact support@stardock.com directly as it sounds like there is some sort of account issue.  This is unrelated to your installing some Windows Updates.
