ghost fences

Hi all

on windows7 64bit (sp1) I installed fences on my main (administrator) user, no problems.

when I 'switch user' and logon as another (basic rights) user I can create fences, and see those fence-names in the config sections, and I can add/remove icons to those fences, and the fences hide-unhide as usual.... but I cant remove those fences (I see the 'X' but it doesn't respond), I cant access the individual fence options (I see the icon in top-left but it does't respond), and I cant resize the fence or drag it around (mouse just draws a box a per windows usual, but doesn't give me the fence 'create' options unless my box-outline is completely away from the existing fence).

I tried uninstalling re-installing but It never re-installs as 'fresh' (picks up all my previous config).

I'm on v2.13

any suggestions?

well, I've found a way around it by re-loading a previous snapshot, then trying it again. Generally it works 2nd time (it only happens when creating portals)

I appreciate you're trying to help, but I wont be persuing this ticket:

your support tool seemed to be gathering a little more info than I'm confortable with.

also:

If you have multiple users on one machine and more than one user has icons in fences, when you uninstall Fences then all the users (except the one you're logged on as) lose ALL their desktop icons and not just the ones in fences.

I've enjoyed the Trial of Fences but it has too many bugs in it right now...

Many thanks

The information gathered is useful to us, though not all of it at all times. The support tool covers a broad range of apps and games, which may be why it seems to gather more info than you're comfortable with. If anything, MSInfo, SDReg, and some screenshots or video will help.

The shortcuts on your desktops should not disappear when Fences is uninstalled, they should still be available for the user on their Desktop. Check Windows Explorer and Desktop to view them.
