Number of rivals

Hello

I prefer to have plenty of space to begin with in these kinds of societal/empire games.

I specify that I only want 3 or 4 galactic rivals, but there are always more and too many, as if I have no control over this.

Advice? Thanks!

I ask for 4 rivals, specific races, and the first thing that happens? I run into 2 races I NEVER EVEN SELECTED.

 

I seriously have absolutely no control over this aspect of the game for whatever reason. This is no good.

 

Too bad, because the game is fantastic otherwise.
