Modernmix DWM error???

It appears that occasionally a DWM icon appears on my taskbar when I am opening and resizing Modern Apps in desktop environment while running Modern Mix with Windows 8.1

And If I open the DWM icon, I get a black screen and a frozen computer.  I am not positive that ModernMiz is the culprit, but I highly suspect that it is.

Not a deal breaker for me, as I love ModernMix.  Just curious if this is a known problem and if so if there is a fix.

I also run Start 8, but I don't suspect that as the culprit.
