Game wont launch on steam after beta 2 update

Game now wont start? Any ideas?
Ok so up until the last update this game has run totally fine! Now it says preparing to launch and does nothing. Ive noticed my chat icon go green as if im in game then switch back to blue after about 3 seconds. This happens everytime. I have tried a fresh install and running in admin mode!
Does anyone else have this issue or a work-around/fix for it?

still havnt found a fix for this issue, Very odd, tried 2 fresh driver installs and re installing the game 3 times. Pluss everything tech support said. Cant see what the issue would be....

From what you said it sounds like you may have an issue with the Steam client code on your PC. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling Steam? Also make sure that you are allowing Steam updates.

unfortunately this has not worked either, On a side note all other games on steam have no issues.

24 giggs of ram. I have re installed steam and game, Will contact steam support soon.

So unfortunately after todays update the game still does not start. Could it be anything to do with the fact i am now using a HD TV as my monitor? 

any help would be great.

Jack, another thing to try is to delete your prefs,ini file in %userprofile%\Documents\My Games\GalCiv3\Saves. If this works, you are home free. If not, then you will have to work with the Devs to get this problem solved.
