I have 45 hours logged with galciv3 online and lots more offline, yet I have not obtained the only achievement! Help please its bugging me!
DARCA. 
I think that's a place holder achievement meant to keep us focused on playing the Alpha. Like a carrot dangled just beyond reach. 
No no no... you can get the achievement by donating a few million dollars to Stardock... check payable to me and you'll get the achievement after the check has cleared the bank....

I thought achievements were a Steam thing and couldn't be obtained during Beta testing.
It is a steam thing, but the developers can set them to be achieved (did it during the FE Beta, or LH, I forget which)
They should put in a placeholder achievement "Participated in the Alpha Test". It would get permanently disabled upon Beta stage and we Elite Founders could feel even more Elite! Maybe even make a Beta achievement, too.
There are various unscrupulous tools one may employ to unlock achievements which I do not recommend you use.
If you do, I will relish mocking you on teh Steam VAC Discussion Hub.
The achievement is only there to torment achievement-obsessed people.
Though all you guys, willing to participate in testing a game (any game) should be given rewards. I certainly don't have nor the time nor the will.
