Issue with SkinStudio

Hi there, I am trying to create my own skin in SkinStudio and I am having trouble with finding the area in order to change the colour of the text for the readonly combobox as I have created some dark red buttons for it but the text is in black and there is no Text section to change the colour option.

 

Please could someone advise whether its possible to change or not

Well, in sks7, it is your window text color, not sure if 8 changed that, probably. someone with sks8 would have to help there.

Until someone using sks8 replies, you could try the window text.

 

In sks7 it is under change skin colors, skin defined system colors, window text.

Should be a similar label in sks8.

Thats brilliant thankyou and it was what was suggested. On that note, im also having the same problem in the start menu with the program list with certain items that have an arrow next to them that bring up an extended menu for "Recent" and "Tasks"

If you are talking about the text and arrow on the right side when you hover over those areas and they bring up a menu, the text color on the item will change to a color over which you have no control on that side. It changes back to whatever color you have set for the non-mouseover mode on that side of the start menu. Just one of the multitude of problem areas you will find in SkinStudio that you just have to get used to unfortunately.

Well the strange thing about it is that i did manage to change the colour but only by chance and can't remember what i did

Isn't that one of the (unused ignore) sections on the startpanel? Ask anyone....I HATE the text setting on the Startpanel.....to put it this way I used to have hair before I started skinning!

I changed my current wip text before posting, not just throwing out suggestions, lol.

 

FYI, and may be critical to why it works,

Programs list side is my only item mouse over, and settings are normal and mouse over for the text, but only under the item mouse over text settings.

 

The places side, I am sharing the item mouse over and only set the places list Normal text, all others at os default.

 

The combination may not matter, but could, good luck, and I will check the post again.

To be fair, I also have 3 kids (girls) that may have helped the hair loss thing along. Then there's genetics....but I'd rather blame skinning!

I had a life - and a wife - before I started skinning.....

Luckily I'm an old retired has-been skinner now.
